Schumi looks Beatable
Written by George Katinger · February 25, 2004
Obviously, this bloke wrote the article before Michael smashed the Imola track record yesterday. All these drivers and people “in the know” predicting his demise this year, are merely expressing wishful thinking.
theglobeandmail.com: Michael Schumacher finally looks beatable
Yes, I too am slightly tired of the Ferrari dominance and continuing success. It would be refreshing to see Juan, Kimi, or Fernando take the title this year, especially in a closely fought four way race.
But talk is cheap and the true test, as always, is on the circuit. Ferarri have built such a formidable team, in all aspects of the sport, that it seems inconceivable for them to loose. Struggle maybe, but loose? I wouldn’t put my pay check on the line with that bet.

It’s hard to be against the “big red team” but just for the a change I also would like to see someone out of the top three make a breakthru.
Maybe Toyota?
Yes we’re all tired of Ferrari domination. But they have done a wonderful job in all departments and the only criticism one can have is their regard for the rules on team tactics. Michael is no longer the maniac that got to the top of the tree by driving his rivals off the road. Now he has matured and seems to concentrate on doing his job as well as he can. Marc, the only prospect for a shock winner this year seems to be Jenson Button if the BAR can really perform as it has done in the test sessions. Otherwise its really a slow progress dependant on budget so pure driving talent is not able to shine so easily. As Frank Williams reasons, having a great car is better than having great drivers.
Testing is now over until after the Australian race and only Toyota are openly worried that things are not yet right. McLaren are telling all sorts of tales but may have some genuine reliability concerns. Or maybe not. They came out fighting last year and who is to say what’s up Ron Dennis’ sleeve.
