Suzuka Qualy’s: Schumacher On Pole!

Written by George Katinger · October 8, 2005

Yes Ferrari fans, once again there is a Schumacher on pole, unfortunately it isn’t Michael!

The title of the GrandPrix article says it all. “Ralf backs onto pole.” The rain affected all of the fast cars on the grid, with all of the fast teams running laps nearly underwater as opposed to on it. It looks like we will finally get the wet race many fans have been looking forward to. My only word of caution is for the Toyota and Honda fans who seem to think this will be a break through race for either team, as in winning a race. Unless accident related, the Toyotas and Honda’s will be consumed by the Renault’s, McLarens and dare I say it, even the Williams and Red Bull teams.

With Button’s strong drive in the wet at Spa, there may be hope for a win, but I expect things eventually to return to normal in the F1 universe. My attempts at picking the podium has been way off of late, so ‘ll stay away from that. Let’s just settle for a good race with no serious carnage.

One small note. Sunday will see a bright and sunny day over Suzuka. At least that’s what the weather guessers are saying.

I think ir can easily be assumed with a Totota and Honda on the front Mother Nature is truely Japanese.

Not that it will matter, once the green goes on it will be a bums rush to the front for every one but Alonzo.

You know, I really have to proofread what I write. The above is a disaster. Sorry.

Anyway, it gives me a chance to add France, (yes France, Frogs can hop fast!), is on the A1GP pole and Team USA is a tick behind on the front row.

    NEWSFLASH George.

Max is at it again, UpdateF1 has the story.

He making more qual proposals for ‘06. Here is a quote, or non-quote from F1’s favorite curmudgeon. (and yours and mine)

“I have no comment on it,” said departing Minardi boss, and staunch Mosley adversary, Paul Stoddart in the Suzuka paddock.

“A no comment from me means it’s a crock of shit.”

Ha! Posted the same story at 11:47 a.m. this morning, just prior to your comment.

Stoddy has to be the best! At least I will sorely miss his direct comments and irreverant takes.

Got something to say?
