A1 Team New Zealand’s Jonny Reid has landed on America’s shores, ready to test the oval at famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Reid’s name appeared on the entry list for the Carb Day (Friday, May 23rd) Firestone Indy Lights series race on the same day he successfully completed his rookie test at Iowa Speedway on Monday.

Reid has finished the past two A1GP campaign as runner-up; first to Germany’s Nico Hulkenberg in the 2006/07 year, and to Swiss Neel Jani in the just-completed season of 2007/08.
Though not an accomplished oval racer, Reid earned praise for his performance on Iowa’s short oval configuration, ticking the timing scoring at velocity only slightly short of last year’s Indy Lights pole on the circuit.
He joins what is rapidly becoming an all-star line-up of young racers in the FIL. Last year’s Atlantics Champion Raphael Matos has found a home there, as have speedy J R Hildebrand, Ana “Bia” Beatriz Figueiredo and others.
