An Eloquent Call For Sanity And Progress

Written by George Katinger · February 27, 2006

Good guys, bad guys, ovals or road festival weekends, we all have our opinions. Some are better expressed than others.

speedtv.com: Glory Days Just Around the Corner?

Cassio Cortes of speedtv.com has the best read I’ve come across yet.
Especially his weaving of song lyrics of music that is near and dear to my heart in his essay.

Read it and enjoy. Or weep, for failure is not an option.

As an aside, did anyone notice the picture of the two principals? Could there be any less flattering photos of these two guys?? Yikes!

Great article but I fear the Boss’s “The River” will be a more poignant ending.

“Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true
Or is it something worse that sends me
Down to the river though I know the river is dry”

AOWR when will this sad saga end?

I think Pink Floyd’s comfortly dumb would fit this pair much better.

    Money and Ego.

K.K. and T.G are both familiar with managing (and making) vast amounts of money. T.G. thought he had the ball, the bat, the gloves and the bases; .. if you didn’t play ball by his rules, he would take his Indy 500 and go home.

    All for naught.

Penske, Ganassi, Rahal and other alledged traitors to CART were forced to make business decisions dictated by sponsors.

    Enough!!!

Cortes’ article is spot on! What open wheel fan would not salivate at the thought of Tracy, Wheldon, Castroneves and Bourdais thundering into turn one as the green flag drops in the first ‘ReIndy 500′?

I’d pay a pretty penny to witness that, and after all, is it not about money?

Got something to say?
