Good News For The IRL

No, it’s not anything as exciting as new sponsors, engine manufacturer’s or new teams forming. It’s just the ABC TV announcing crew, and guess who isn’t mentioned?
autoweek.com: Rusty Wallace to join IRL TV broadcast team
Rusty will be joining Scott Goodyear as a color commentator and the play by play man will probably be Brian Kenny. What Rusty can contribute as an open wheel color man in a series without fenders remains to be seen. I guess ABC will let him break-in as a full time TV guy with the IRL before reigning him back to NASCAR in 2007. Give him a chance to lose those “hot rod” descriptions he’s so fond of.
Oh yeah, the odd man out? My favorite Danica butt-boy, Todd Harris. Please note the underlined word probably in the above paragraph. If ABC is still considering the return of the over-hyperventilating Harris then they have no hopes of increasing their ratings whatsoever. Without Harris I am looking forward to my first complete IRL TV race broadcast this year.
I also can’t wait for Rusty’s first comment upon hearing “I Am Mindy” come blasting through his headphones. He is nothing if not outspoken.

Feel the same about Bill Weber. That man annoys me to no end.I cannot watch an entire race with him whining. Hope nobody picks him up after NBC says good bye. Alan

Thank God for MRN Radio
