Sam Schmidt Motorsports’ Richard Antinucci punted teammate Ana Beatriz out of the lead on a late race restart to win his third race of the last six. He was penalized ten championship points post-race for ‘avoidable contact’ by the race stewards.

The result cost Beatriz a sure win with only six laps remaining, and denied the Indy Racing League its first woman victor in an open-wheel race.

The race was marred by multiple incidents, including a pre-race sortie that put six cars at rest.

The Indy Lights field takes a break for three weeks before resuming at the Kansas 100 on April 27th.

Teams participate in an Open Test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Friday (April 11th) weather permitting.
