The Indy Pro Series has changed its name to Firestone Indy Lights. The change goes into effect Wednesday (March 26th).

Al Speier of Firestone called the move an acknowledgement of the historical importance of the 1986-2001 run of the original Indy Lights, the ladder system to a seat in open-wheel racing’s then-sovereign Championship Auto Racing Team’s IndyCar machines.
