Stock the cooler, we’re going green at about 3 PM EDT.
Welcome to the latest installment of the mighty mighty LiveBlog! I’m your host, MoneyCJ. Sidekick SUPERSTU is in the House, and we’ll be hearing from all sorts of guest dignitatries via IM throughout the afternoon.
All you need to do to play along is hit refresh regularly (so you are never without the latest flake of genius), and do a shot every time Marty or Scott uses the phrase “Lock Step.”

3:27 PM: And Stu has arrived. With a hottie! Hey baby…
3:30 PM: And we’re live from Infineon Raceway–picture perfect day (damn you, Jeff!) As they replay the recent crashes, we’re getting a beer.
3:35 PM: The Right-Sexy Wee Bastard gets a montage of his very own. “Once I won at Indy, everything just kinda took off” (Ed. Note: Yeah…in more ways than one, mate!)
3:38 PM: SUPERSTU, watching Arute interview Dario, makes obligatory ‘Pole Sitter’ joke. Shot.
3:40 PM: We’re gonna get this thing underway. What?! No rain delay?!!
3:43 PM: Command comes courtesy of ‘Grand Marshall’ Kathleen Finato (sp? who dat?) I’m getting a really mellow vibe from the scene so far…maybe it’s a Cali thing.
3:48 PM: Scott: Last year’s winner Marco was fastest in morning practice. The one to watch…
3:50 PM: green-green-green! RHR immediately bumps Marco into the dirt. Recovers. Wishing we had a scanner right now…(Replay: RHR went wayyy high–pushed Marco right off the track. Marco reporting steering probs)
3:56 PM: Wow. The Root points out that officials have allocated 82 gallons of fuel for each car. Race runs 80 laps. Telemetry showing burn rate of 1 gallon per lap. Tight….
3:58 PM: Lineup remains Dario, Danica, TK, Helio, Iceman at 8 of 80. We go side-by-side for the kickass Firestone commercial…Shot!
4:02 PM: RHR pits — brake troubles / bottoming out. He’s out of the car. SUCKS if he’s out for the day…a podium was definitely well within his reach here (but then again, he’s the one that went high into Marco, so…eh). Something tells us Jeff Simmons’s cell phone is ringing on the Golf course right now.
4:08: The more we hear the I AM INDY song, the more heinous it sounds. Sorry, Gene. You blow–and so does BAG.
4:10 PM: SWEET! Sammy Hagar’s in the house! A clearly pumped Bre gets the interview. He’s hangin’ w AJ, throwin’ around a little Cabo Wabo Tequila sponsorship schweaty. Good on ya, Red Rocker! In honor of this, SUPERSTU and I elect to do a shot of Patron.
4:17 PM: At 20, it’s Dario, Danica, TK, Helio, Iceman, Sam. Oop–Danica pits at 21. 7.7 second stop. Not too shabby…Parade o’ Pitting at 22…maybe things’ll shake up a bit. Or maybe not…
4:23 PM: Bre snags RHR. Sounds like he’s blaming Marco. I call Bullshit. STU calls Bullshit. We all call Bullshit.
4:26 PM: Sam spins, recovers on lap 26. Dude, it was kind of beautiful. Like ballet. Totally shot-worthy.
4:31 PM: Hey! It’s a text from Jeffy, who’s trackside. “No passing, but the weather is gorgeous.” Glad you’re liking it, Chief.
GrumBailey09 (4:34:03 PM): yeah, I would like to join the chorus of bullshit-callers
SoDamnIndy (4:34:32 PM): Consider yourself on record, my friend!
4:35 PM: Scott points out the Crystal Hornish is with child. We did not know this. Very cool. At 34, it’s Dario, TK, Iceman, Helio. Not a lot of drama today, folks….but the weather is gorgeous.
4:43 PM: Lap 40. At the halfway mark, we got Dario, TK, Iceman, Helio, Danica, andzzzzzzzzzzz….
4:47 PM: Jeffy texts that he needs a Beer Yellow. The beers cost $12 at Infineon. Shit’s crazy.
4:50 PM: Scheckter’s having a tough time today. We are convinced that has everything to do with the fact that he denied our MySpace friend request. It’s the Money Curse.
4:52 PM: Danica comes down hard on Lookin’ Sharp, who was in the middle of a clean pass. Scott spins. Paging the IHJ….IHJ….Anyone???? Scott recovers, but must be enraged. To say that the two drivers are not tight would be quite an understatement.
4:55 PM: According to the crawl, Sarah’s out. News to us. Looks like our Broadcast Professionals have yet to notice…
GrumBailey09 (4:55:51 PM): this is like watching a high speed parade, granted its a parade through wine country, and its a beautiful day…but still!
SoDamnIndy (4:56:38 PM): Dude. What happened to Sarah? Apparently she’s out?
GrumBailey09 (4:57:13 PM): I didn’t see, either
SoDamnIndy (4:57:33 PM): No one in the booth seems to have noticed yet
GrumBailey09 (4:58:07 PM): they are busy…trying to come up with new and exciting ways to use lock-step at a road course
GrumBailey09 (4:58:48 PM): T&S just says mechanical
SoDamnIndy (4:58:58 PM): Ah.
5:04 PM: Bailey reports that Sarah’s actually been out since lap 39. D’oh.
5:11 PM: We’ve got 20 to go and everything’s looking pretty much the same. Party in the pits.
5:15 PM: Danica stalls in the pits with 17 to go. Bev-cam shows massive freaking. She gets back out, though…
5:17 PM: The Root sez Dixon’s been all worked up on the radio–TK’s been throwing a massive block party. Gee, why would he do such a thing?…
5:20 PM: We got ACTION! Dario and Iceman are battling…this is good.
5:22 PM: Marco touched by Dario whilst exiting the pits. Spins. Stalls. Sux to be Marco this year. Hate to say it, but Marco also refused my MySpace friend request. Money curse. Jussayin’…Anyway, first Yellow of the day and we got 11 to go!
5:27 PM: 10 to go, still under Yellow, and it’s Dario, Iceman, TK, Helio, Wheldon (!), Sam, Danica….a nice shootout between Dario and Scott is exactly what we need right now. Schweeeet.
5:29 PM: 8 laps to go and we are green…let’s rock! Dario v Scott: May the best driver win!!!
5:31 PM: Oop! Yellow w 7 to go. Quattro smacked into Sharp. Sharp recovers (again!). Quattro toast. Since the restart, Iceman overcame Dario and things were getting pretty damn awesome. Hold onto your hat!
5:37 PM: Green. 5 to go. Dixon’s in the lead. Helio nipping at his heels. Dario back to 3rd…
5:42 PM: ICEMANNNNNNN!!!!! It’s Dixon, Helio (yeah!), Dario, TK (who totally had Dario’s back all day–class), Sam, Danica, Wheldon, Tomas, Vitor, and Kosuke. Nice race.
Dixon takes the points lead–and will most likely keep it from here on out. On to Belle Isle…I’ll be in Detroit for the next two days on business and plan to go take a look at the venue…will report back…Rawk.

I agree about Dan-he did make that huge point about how he and Marco are the only single drivers…..maybe trying to make a point to someone.
AGR has got to get better at working as a team.
and I agree, Dixon may not look back after this race
Noticed the girls next door rooting for Marco…is he dating one of them? lucky kid.
