Indianapolis-based Team Puts Christmas Gift in Fans’ Pockets

When Indy Racing League star Vitor Meira missed a promised autograph and welcome session at Chicagoland Speedway in September he vowed to do something to make it up to his fans.
The result is a popular, and unique, gift idea that makes you wonder why someone hasn’t done this before:
Motorsport.com: Wrecked Car Keychain Brings Christmas Cheer
The small, rectangular keychain charm (similar to a drugstore or grocery discount card scanned at checkout) has the dashing Panther logo on one side of the carbon fiber fob and Meira’s autograph on the other.
For IndyCar’s DownForce fan club, the item has become a highly sought trinket that’s brought smiles all around.

“Indy Racing League star Vitor Meira”?!
Excuse me, but how in the hell is a driver that’s never won an IRL championship or even so much as a single race a “STAR”?!
Thank you for giving this matter your attention.
You’re kidding right? Vitor has been a strong IRL competitor since 2002, and is a brilliant racer. His ‘07 season was lackluster, but I don’t think many people will object to calling Vitor a star. He has SEVEN second place finishes, probably far more seconds than any other non winner. It’s just a matter of time (and equipment I suppose) before he sees the checkers in first. Plus he’s one of the classiest guys out there. Vitor is a star.
/I’m/ the one that’s kidding?!
Better equipment?!?!
Wasn’t he with RLR in ‘04 & ‘05 when they (but not he) were doing well and winning races, including the Indy 500?!?!?!
Your argument bears a striking resemblance to the tired “Paul Tracy continues to mature” canard so often trotted out, even to this very day.
