No Engines, No Cars, And Now One Less Track?

Texas Motor Speedway is giving Tony George and the IRL a warning: Get real with your liscensing fees or get out.

I’m sure it’s all business posturing to make a buck, or more accurately, a few more bucks by TMS owners. But the threat would not have been made if the track didn’t sniff out a little weakness in the series position. With two NASCAR events drawing 2-3 times what the IRL race draws, TMS can afford to tell the IRL to lower their fees or kiss off.
Pucker up Tony, or reach into your pocket for more subsidies for your struggling series. Or is it time to talk merger with OWRS yet again? Oops, seems like you burned that bridge, didn’t you!
