Sportsclubstats.com computer program predicts sea change in chances
Computer whiz Ken Roberts’ servers will be smoking tonight when IndyCar fans see the huge shift his software-based predictive model forecasts in the favorite to win the 2007 Indy Racing League Championship.
Sportsclubstats.com: Dixon Assumes Lead in Forecast for Title
Despite Tony Kanaan’s post-race assertions that his Andretti Green Racing teammate Dario Franchitti will win, the numbers for Scott Dixon to claim ultimate victory in the season-long chase are looking very rosy right now.
Dixon’s odds of winning the Champion’s ring rose a hearty 21% with his Motorola Indy 300 win at Infineon Raceway on Sunday (August 26th), while those of Franchitti fell an alarming 19% to less than 50/50 to finish out the year on top.
For the record, the computerized prediction says Scott Dixon now holds the upper hand in the race, with a fifty-nine percent likelihood of success.
Dario Franchitti holds onto some hope though, with a forty-one percent chance of coming back to raise the trophy at year’s end.
Tony Kanaan, who many thought capable of mounting his own charge to the title, dropped to a near-impossible one in a thousand chance according to the predictive software model.
