Rain Washes Out Wednesday Indy Practice
Written by Allan Brewer · May 14, 2008
Rain once again spoiled the party at Indy, as only a thirty-minute teaser of IndyCar Series action was on tap for the loyal fans who turned out on a gray, misty downer of a day at the Speedway.
Noon EDT start came and went, as did multiple resets of the planned six-hour session ahead of Saturday’s second, and final, weekend of qualifying for the Indianapolis 500. A small window of opportunity appeared at approximately 4:45 PM and the cars rolled onto the track for a period of rolling yellow followed by the green flag at 5:15 PM.

Scott Dixon took the honors as fastest, with teammate Dan Wheldon right behind; followed by Marco Andretti, Hideki Mutoh and Danica Patrick. John Andretti was quickest among drivers not yet qualified for the Memorial Day 500-mile race.
