The TK and Sam Show…Just for Posterity
Written by Money CJ · July 9, 2007
We’re not pleased by yesterday’s fracas…(unlike many, we do not believe this kind of shit is good for this particular league) and we’re still wondering what the F is up with Sam Hornish, Jr. (and now his family!), but we did find this excellent summary of what went down yesterday at The Glen on YouTube and thought we’d throw it up here just for posterity…
We saw in the original broadcast that Mikey wanted to throw down, but this piece of tape shows our Boy Dan Wheldon takin’ sides…! Huh. And all this time we thought he was a lover, not a fighter…Props to Danny for standing by TK…who anyone with eyes and half a brain can totally see was wronged–both on the track and then in the pits. We hope the IHJ throws down some LAW on Sam Sr., Sam Jr., and–what the hell–Team Penske. Anything less would be un-American…enjoy the clip.

the Sams look like punks.
It would seem to me that there’s a few people looking at this through their own shaded blinders. Sam Jr. has been a little more chippy than in the past, I’ll agree, but he did nothing wrong either on the track or afterwards.
Yes, you should probably talk to each other later on, away from the pit area but in the heat of the moment, it was understandable. What Sr. did was not needed but what Andretti did wasn’t needed either.
I thought TK was better than that but maybe not.
What Sam did on the track is evident–if you have to go on the curb to make your pass you don’t have the line. Tony sealed off the line before going into the turn. You could suggest TK was blocking, but if he was then the proper thing to do is back off let race control deal with him, not push your way into the spot. Tony chopping him at the end however is bad, and negates any wrong doing on Sams part. Ban his dad from the pits, what kind of an idiot pushes an already pissed of driver?
Sam Hornish Sr. had no right to push anyone or get involved. He is with his son as a priviledge and I hope the proper authorities revoke that priviledge. Anyone with half a brain can see that Hornish could have backed off and not hit Kannan but he had to make his point one way or another. Andretti did nothing wrong, so I don’t understand what the comment was about what Andretti did. Get the facts right! Let the racers talk about what happened and keep the family out of it.
Looks like Sam had a little run on TK but didnt have the pass. TK could have given a little race room but he didnt have to. Sam should have backed out.
Then Dad pushing TK while Sam is clapping/antagoninzing is lame. I going to have to put this all on the Penske side.
Uh, the Sam/TK deal on the track was racing and they could have taken it up with each other after the hubbub was over. But what TK did at the end was definitely wrong. The shoving match didn’t intrigue me much but it did add a little color. As far as Michael was concerned? “The facts” as I saw them show him throwing his arm up but whether he hit anyone, I don’t know but he wasn’t innocent. This is good, a little controversy.
No one pointed out what Sam’s father was doing before he shoved Tony. Notice that he has dragged Sam away to prevent any confrontation and held him back away. Then Tony started toward him and then the father reacted by inappropriately shoving Tony. He was trying to keep them apart.
