Wheldon Finalist for Driver of the Year

Indy Racing League champion Dan Wheldon is one of six drivers competing for the SPEEDTV Driver of the Year Award.
Target/Chip Ganassi Racing’s Dan Wheldon is one of six finalists for the SPEEDTV Driver of the Year Award.
SpeedTV: Wheldon on the Ballot
Wheldon, who became in 2005 the first driver in more than ten years to win both the Indianapolis 500 and the IRL championship, claimed a record six victories, including four out of five races to begin the season. He recorded 12 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes in 17 starts and led for a total of 752 laps.
In addition to Wheldon, other drivers nominated include: Greg Anderson (NHRA) Sebastian Bourdais (Champ Car), Steve Kinser (World of Outlaws), Tony Schumacher (NHRA) and Tony Stewart (NASCAR).
The winner will be announced on SpeedTV in two weeks on Feb 15th.
