You’ve Got Money!
Written by Money CJ · June 4, 2007
Friends, colleagues, readers…allow me to introduce myself. My name is MoneyCJ, former host of SoDamnIndy.com, and the newest member of the super-tight Fastmachines family. It’s great to be here, and we’re going to have a lot of fun exploring the wild and wacky world that is the IndyCar Series together.
Being the new guy, I need to take a little time to look around and figure out how everything works around here, so I’m going to keep this post brief.
I do want to take a moment to toss out a few very quick thoughts on the insanity that was the ABC Supply Co./ AJ Foyt 225 at the historic Milwaukee Mile:
Readers of my Boy Jeff’s site MyNameIsIRL know that I have a pretty decent track record when it comes predicting race winners. I was completely convinced that yesterday was going to be Helio’s day. Jeff took issue, reminding readers that when it comes to Milwaukee, Spiderman is simply Snakebit…and man alive was he right!
I was feeling pretty damn smug (and, frankly, pretty damn hammered) at around Lap 200, as my Boy Helio had been in fine form all day and was totally poised to bring it all home. Just as I picked up the phone to heckle Jeff, it happened. How a rear wing can simply fold like that on a Penske car is simply beyond comprehension. I felt Helio’s pain big time after smashing what remained of my frosty Miller Lite across my brow. Seriously. I have a bruise.
Anyway, it was one hell of a race. We loved to see Buddy Rice take and keep the lead for so many laps. We were really impressed with Danica’s tenacity, speed and focus early on and went on to lose all respect for her (again) when she got all pissy on the radio and then in the pits and to the cameras about Dan Wheldon when the fact of the matter was SHE COULDN’T GET AROUND HIM. (Note to Danica: Don’t be fucking with Dan).
We totally lost our buzz when Marco hit the wall (Dude…we love you, but this just isn’t your year), but were happy to see all 225 laps completed without the feared rain delay. We give mad props to TK for a hell of a run, to Dario for keeping it real and to Dan for overcoming Danica’s bullshit, staying out of trouble when trouble was everywhere and taking the third spot on the podium–thus retaining the 2nd spot in the points race.
And with that, I will thank you for reading my first post at Fastmachines, and urge you to check out my buddy pressdog’s take. His race recaps are the finest–and the funniest–in the business, yo…

I welcome any comments that aren’t filtered (I think) - that looks like your view. Buddy running up front was indeed good to see and Danica leaves me conflicted too. Maybe she’s finally finding her fire but the incident with Dan was a racing deal, as they say.
welcome CJ.
Look forward to reading you here.
Hah, poor Danica, I have not seen the race yet…have it on DVR…so I will hold off on any conclusions. But I do have my suspicions about what I will see.
Danica is a whiner.
Yo, Money!
Welcome aboard, your first postings are terrific, especially your slant on the Prancing Princess. No not
Danica, Dan! Got ya! Just kidding, keep smackin’ Dear Danica for all you’re worth; until she wins something
she’s just another pretty face, almost as cute as Danny boy.
