Australian Ace Rides to Second Consecutive Win in Mid-Eastern Round
Casey Stoner continues to demonstrate the field-besting stride that carried him to the 2007 MotoGP championship by winning last weekend’s (March 9th) Qatar MotoGP event for the second year in a row.
Stoner led second-place Jorge Lorenzo and third-running Dani Pedrosa by over five and ten seconds respectively, as he drove the Ducati to victory in the first night race of MotoGP history.

“That was a fantastic race, and I really enjoyed it,” Stoner said. “It was like being back in 125s! The first few laps were really hectic. There were guys bashing fairings, and I just tried to stay out of the way. When I got my chance to get through, I took it, and from there I just focused on setting my pace.”
The series breaks for three weeks before returning to action for the Grand Prix of Spain on March 30 at Jerez. The inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP is Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
