Driver autograph sessions and interviews highlight activities for fans of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in Indianapolis

A fun-filled Chevy Day at the Brickyard on Friday, August 4th kicks off the weekend of hospitality and racing excitement at the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Allstate 400 at the Brickyard stock car race.

Cup drivers’ autograph sessions and interviews are planned from 8 AM thru Noon (EDT) at various locations around the infield of the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Entry to the Chevy Day event is included in the price of admission to the IMS grounds for the day’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard NASCAR practice sessions. General admission tickets for the day of play and racecar-watching are $10 per person, and admission is absolutely free for children ages 5 and younger.

The day’s activities will include Chevrolet-sponsored NASCAR drivers in question-and-answer sessions with Riki Rachtman, the former host of MTV’s “Headbangers Ball,” on the Chevy Stage in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum parking lot. Among the drivers and team owners participating in autograph sessions on the Speedway’s spacious Pagoda Plaza are Jeff Burton, Richard Childress, J.J.Yeley, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick.

Chevrolet NASCAR drivers will also compete for fun and bragging rights in the Chevy Day RC Driver Challenge, matching skills piloting radio-controlled cars around a specially-designed miniature Speedway in the Flag Lot, located just north of the Pagoda Plaza Chalets.

Other activities on Chevy Day at the Brickyard include photo opportunities with the red No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., the bright orange and black No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet driven by reigning Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner Tony Stewart and the blue and white No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet driven by Johnson. Fans can also enjoy displays of 2006 Chevy passenger cars and trucks, with live music provided by the Jolie Holliday Band, while on the Speedway grounds.

A limited number of fans age 18 and older that complete a Chevy Test Drive of a 2005, 2006 or 2007 vehicle at a participating central Indiana Chevy dealer will be eligible for a “Hot Lap” with a Chevy NASCAR driver on the legendary 2.5-mile IMS oval. Test drives must be completed by Thursday, August 3rd and are available in limited quantities. Each voucher for a completed Chevy Test Drive is good for one “Hot Lap” and two admission tickets to the Speedway grounds for Friday’s activities.
