Atlanta Motor Speedway Suffers Over $40 million in Storm Damage
Atlanta Motor Speedway was one of the targets of severe storms described as “funnel clouds” Wednesday night. The storms were the aftermath of Hurrican Cindy’s passae through the area. The five full-time residents of condos at the speedway were evacuated safely. The press box front wall was almost completely blown away and many of the track’s luxury suites suffered severe damage.

A nearby airport suffered similar damage with several airplanes destroyed and overturned by the storms. 34,000 residents in the Metro Atlanta area lost power in the aftermath of Hurricane Cindy.
