Jimmy Spencer: He’s Baaaack!

Written by Josh Katinger · March 30, 2004

NASCAR’s “Mr. Excitement” will be back to his fender banging ways this weekend at Texas Motorspeedway. Morgan-McClure Motorsports announced today that Jimmy Spencer will pilot their No. 4 NEXTEL Cup Series car for the upcoming Samsung Radio Shack 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. Spencer replaces Kevin Lepage, who was with the team since the fall race last season at Darlington, S.C. Additionally, Featherlite, Inc. (www.fthr.com), the “Official Trailer” and “Official Luxury Coach” of NASCAR will take over from YokeTV (whatever that was) as the primary sponsor of the #4 car.

What a joy! I can not wait to hang out with him in Texas!

I guess we should count ourselves lucky there aren’t any Japanese drivers in Cup competition - yet. I think NASCAR should saddle him with a Japanese spotter. Wouldn’t matter as he probably doesn’t listen anyway!

Let’s see. . .if I’m a sponsor, who do I want as my driver: Keving LePage or Jimmy Spencer?

If I’m the owner of a 2nd rate, single car team that couldn’t win a race with the ghost of Earnhardt Sr. up on the wheel, who would generate more TV time and interest in my team? LePage or Spencer?

I’d rather see Buckshot out there than “Mr. Excrement”. Buckshot didn’t run his mouth half as well as his car, which means he had nothing to say!

Got something to say?
