‘Mikey’ and Tony Stewart Win Duels

Written by John Davison · February 17, 2005

Michael Waltrip won another race at Daytona, pushed across the finish line by teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. This time, ‘Mikey’ captured the first of the Gatorade Duel 150-mile qualifying races to set the field for Sunday’s Daytona 500. In the second race, Jimmie Johnson seemed on the way to a continuation of his late-season success in 2004, only to have Kevin Harvick’s Chevy make contact with his car, starting a multi-car melee that sent several front-runners to the garage.

Congrats to Tony. He has one heck of a car.

So did Bobby Labonte, but he got hung out to dry once Tony took the lead.

And man, what about Harvick? Man that guy has a target on his chest, and we aren’t through week 1 yet. I’d be careful if I was him on Sunday.

Tony did really good.he won the Gatorade duel #2 and the Busch race the next day.Harvick is cocky but i dont think anyone will mess with him cause he will argue and fight with who ever comes at him.

Got something to say?
