McMurray Penalized For Post-Race Incident At Bristol
Driver Jamie McMurray was fined $10,000 and placed on probation until Aug. 31 for his incident at the conclusion of Sunday’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, NASCAR officials announced today.

McMurray, driver of the No. 42 Dodge for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, was penalized for violating Section 12-4-A (Actions detrimental to stock car racing) of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Rule Book when he made deliberate contact with the car of Matt Kenseth as the field returned to pit lane following the conclusion of the race.
