Rain, rain, go away in Michigan

Today’s NEXTEL Cup race, the 3M Performance 400 in Michigan, has been postponed until noon ET, Monday, August 20th because of heavy rain.

Update on 20 August: With heavy rain persisting, NASCAR has again delayed the race, now scheduled for 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, August 21st.

The NASCAR season has now had to deal with four rain-delayed events.

You can pass the time by reading about DEI’s search for another driver for the 8 car, since that number will not be going with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. to Hendrick Motorsports next season.

    I Reckon that DEI will stick the number 8 to Mark Martin, to share with the kid. With Rudd retiring Yates might be willing to let the 88 slip away to Junior but I doubt it. Jr. says he don’t wanna do 3 til it’s time for last call like Rusty and now I se my bright idea, 08 is to be used by Nemechek, so maybe something in the 80’s or 0 or 13 or 33 or 5 or rain rain go away, I don’t even root for dad gum Dale.

    …seems to me Rick had 44 for quite sometime as an owner and then Terry retired and it wasn’t no deal for DJ to grab it when he left Yates and the 88 behind? Yates could run 28 and 38, that would have nice symetry like 24 and 48 or 9 and 19 or 44 and 55 oh lord how much would a 2 mile dome with exaust blowers cost anyway?

    Daniel, I LOVE your idea of lil’ E driving the 69 car. Why not,eh? I’m not a Jr. fan either. On a side note…I was REALLY surprised that Gibb’s took Kyle Busch…geez what the heck is that team thinking? Good ol’ Smoke and Hamlin having to deal with that character!!! They will need our prayers!!!

    Smokey put’s the -C- in “Character” my friend and thank goodness there are nut jobs like him and Kyle to keep things interesting the other 6 days of the week.
