Robby Gordon, Others Lose Parts
Written by John Davison · February 13, 2005
Robby Gordon’s new team, with no provisional starting positions to fall back on, may be out of the Daytona 500 before qualifying even begins. NASCAR announced that Gordon’s car, and several others, had unapproved parts discovered in pre-practice inspections. Gordon’s engine had an unapproved intake manifold, leading to a scramble to obtain correct parts from engine builder Menard Racing.

HOW MUCH OF STUPID DOES A NASCAR CREW CHIEF HAVE TO HAVE TO USE UNAPPROVED
CAR PARTS?
Does anything surprise you with Robby Gordon? He is King Idiot!
Hey DaveG, the OTHER Gordon, along with the Earnhardts (Kerry and Dale) were ALL found to have “illegal” parts.
When a guy is starting a new team it’s a little easier to understand those kind of screw-ups. DEI? Hendrick? Inexcusable.
