For thirty-five years, Talladega Superspeedway has provided some of the most competitive racing in NASCAR history and today speedway officials announced plans to celebrate the historical anniversary.

Richard Brickhouse, winner of the 1969 Talladega 500, the first NASCAR race at Talladega Superspeedway, was on hand today to assist the speedway in kicking-off their 35th Anniversary celebration.

“I am excited to be here today to help Talladega Superspeedway celebrate its 35th Anniversary,” said Brickhouse. “This track signifies NASCAR racing and the competition it produces is unprecedented. It is truly an honor to be listed as the first winner of a NASCAR race at this historic facility.”

To honor the 35th Anniversary of “NASCAR’s Most Competitive Track”, Speedway vice president/general manager Rick Humphrey announced a special opportunity for fans. Any fan who purchases or has purchased a ticket to the Oct. 3 EA SPORTS 500 at the 2.66-mile superspeedway by Sept. 1 will be automatically entered into the “Win Tickets at Talladega Superspeedway For 35 Years Contest.” For a complete list of contest rules, please visit our website at www.talladegasuperspeedway.com.

The winner will be drawn Sept. 15 and will receive two two-day Tri-Oval tickets to the fall event weekend at Talladega Superspeedway for the next 35 years. The winner will be part of pre-race activities prior to the EA SPORTS on Oct. 3 and will also have a chance to win $35,000 if the leader on lap 35 goes on to win the race.

“Talladega Superspeedway has the greatest fans in the world,” said Humphrey. “And what better way to celebrate our 35th Anniversary than to honor our fans with a chance to win tickets for 35 years and the chance to win $35,000. This promotion allows Talladega Superspeedway to give back to the fans who have given so much to us for 35 years.”

Fans will have another opportunity to win a special ticket package for the EA SPORTS 500 weekend to commemorate the anniversary. In a joint effort With Golden Flake, the track’s official salted snack food, Talladega Superspeedway announced a promotion, which begins in July that will award tickets and hospitality passes to one lucky fan and 35 of their closest friends to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race on Oct 3.

As another way to say thank you, Talladega Superspeedway will host its first Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, September 12 from 1:00
