Wallace Heads Loudon’s Happy Hour
Written by John Davison · September 17, 2005
Rusty Wallace’s Miller Lite No. 2 Dodge very appropriately headed the time sheets at the end of “Happy Hour” final practice at New Hampshire International Speedway Friday. Wallace’s best lap was timed at 29.956 sec/127.146 mph. Just behind Wallace, only 0.061 sec back was rookie Kyle Busch with the Kelloggs No. 5 Chevrolet. First practice was headed by Jeff Gordon, whose crew chief, Robbie Loomis, has moved to the No. 48 team as a consultant until the end of the season, when he will leave to work at Petty Enterprises as executive vice president for competition. Gordon’s time was slightly quicker than Wallace’s, at 29.661 sec/128.411 mph.

In news you may have missed, Robbie Loomis won’t be sitting idly by or fishing anytime soon.
Hendrick announced Loomis would be sitting atop the pit box of Jimmie Johnson during the Chase.
Somehow I believe the “too many cooks in the kitchen” rule applies.
I’ve predicted Johnson to finish the Chase in fourth spot.
News not missed…check NASCAR posting before this one…
