Gentilozzi “Slides” To Trans-Am Win At Long Beach
Written by Josh Katinger · April 18, 2004
Part Champ Car ower, part Trans-Am driver Paul Gentilozzi showed that he is not ready for a desk job running the two series just yet. He worked his way past two of the sports top vertans to claim a win at Long Beach today. One of those veterans was his newly signed Rocket Sports Racing team driver Tommy Kendall.
“It was not my plan to get ahead of Tommy but I got into the marbles and just slid into the lead, did not mean to get into Tommy,” explained Paul Gentilozzi.

Well, he may not have “meant” to get into Tommy, but it does prove that he was racing hard for the win. If I were in Paul’s position I would be more worried about the car I was driving and the car Tommy was driving across the line safely…both of which I owned…but not Paul. I guess that is why I’m not in his position.
