Peugeot storms back to 24 Hours pole

Alan McNish and Audi had their provision pole snatched away by Stephane Sarrazin and the Peugeot team tonight in night qualifying for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The French super-team again showed that their machine is the quickest on the grid. They’ve got the speed thing figured out. The looming question is in regards to their ability to put together a 24 hour race.
Porsche double-dips in P2
A pair of Porsche Spyders qualified first and second in the P2 class. Team Essex and NAVI Team Goh were top class qualifiers, and ended up 20th and 21st over all.
Corvettes rule GT1
No disrespect to the Aston Martin fans, but GT1 might as well be called the Corvette class. Corvette factory team is used to racing amongst themselves in recent ALMS races, and the 24 Hours may not be much different. The Corvettes qualified within a half a second of each other, and both were almost 1.5 seconds quicker than the Aston Martin.
Great day for Flying Lizard
Flying Lizard gave Porsche their second class pole of the 2009 event. Joerg Bergmeiste laid down an incredible lap to edge a fellow Porsche out. Risi had the fastest Ferrari, and were less than a second off the pace.
